Celebrating 35 Years of Connections
On October 12th, UNICO Group, a client-focused insurance broker, held its 2023 annual meeting. This year’s meeting was not only a celebration of the company’s successful fiscal year but also marked a significant milestone – 35 years in business!
Training and Education
The day kicked off with a training session conducted by Nate Sannes from InCite Performance Group. Sannes provided valuable insight and strategies to UNICO’s advisor team, equipping them with the necessary tools to start the new fiscal year on a successful note. This session set the tone for the day, emphasizing the importance of continuous improvement and growth.
Following the training, Scott Becker and Brian Klintworth from HBE took the stage to deliver an educational session on the impacts of the Nebraska Pass-Through Entity Tax (PTET) on 2023 tax filings. This session provided UNICO shareholders with a comprehensive understanding of the changes in tax regulations, allowing them to make informed decisions and navigate the complexities of the tax landscape.
Reviewing Achievements and Setting Goals
With the educational sessions concluded, team members from across the nation gathered to review the fiscal year’s results and discussed the goals and targets for the upcoming year. This session fostered a sense of unity and collective purpose, highlighting UNICO’s commitment to excellence and continuous growth.
Recognizing Excellence: The Scotty Award
One of the highlights of the meeting was the presentation of the annual Scotty Award. Initiated by UNICO’s past President, Scott Nelson, the Scotty Award recognizes team members who consistently embody UNICO’s core values – Positivity, Teamwork, Professionalism, and Trust. This year, the award was awarded to Derek Holmquist, Brand Strategist, who began his journey at UNICO as an intern seven years ago and has since made significant contributions to the company’s success.
Celebrating Success
To cap off the day on a high note, the UNICO team celebrated their achievement of being ranked #1 in the 2023 Best Place to Work in Lincoln. This recognition not only reaffirmed UNICO’s commitment to creating a positive and inclusive work environment but also served as a testament to the dedication and hard work of each team member.
