Each year, the Nebraska Society of CPAs select four award winners for the categories of Distinguished Service to the Profession Award, Public Service Award, Outstanding CPA in Business & Industry Award and Outstanding Accounting Educator Award.
Neal Lyons, Chief Financial Officer, has been awarded Nebraska Society of CPAs’ Outstanding CPA in Business & Industry Award for 2023. Neal proudly accepted the award at the Nebraska Society of CPAs’ Annual Meeting on October 30.
In addition to Outstanding CPA in Business & Industry, a scholarship was also awarded in Neal’s name to an accounting student attending a Nebraska University.
The purpose of the Outstanding CPA in Business & Industry Award is to honor Nebraska CPAs who have made a significant contribution to the growth and success of their employers or a notable entrepreneurial achievement. In addition, the award recognizes those CPAs working in business, industry, or government who have distinguished themselves by having made a significant contribution to the enhancement of the accounting profession. The Selection Committee selects a recipient based on the following criteria:
- Significant contributions to the growth and success of his or her employer;
- Notable entrepreneurial achievement; or
- Service to organizations at the local, state, and national level that contribute to the overall strength of the accounting profession.
